NOTICE: The Principles of Technology/ Physics in Context Training for
the summer of 2008 will be very different from previous years. Below is
a brief description of the changes:
1. All training will be online and conducted through UT Telecampus
Professional Development Online.
2. The training will be available June 1, 2008 and must be completed by
August 31, 2008. Applications and registrations will be
accepted and processed until July 15, 2008.
3. Click on the
application information link for the steps to apply for
admission to the program.
4. The cost for the training is $475, however, this summer;
in the pilot year a scholarship program has been instituted to cover the
cost of training.
5. Due to the cost of developing, delivering and ensuring a quality
experience for all participants, the following limitations apply:
a. Only
fully
qualified Texas teachers may participate.
b. The training is capped at 80 teachers in this pilot year. (NO
EXCEPTIONS)
6. Participants are expected to
provide/have access to the following:
a. Physics in
Context textbook and Student Lab Manual ($92.97 from the web site:
http://www.cordcommunications.com
b. Access to a
fully equipped lab. Limited lab access may be made available if demand
is great enough. Travel and expenses will be at the expense of the
participant.
UPDATE: We will open a lab in the Austin area on June 26, July 29
& Aug 16. If these dates or locations will not work, please contact Dan
Allen with Lab Resources 888-963-2200 (the vendor for PIC equipment) and
he will let you know of labs which are available.
